Greetings! Welcome to niconeco zakkaya. I am Siming, and I appreciate you taking the time to learn about our shop.

Our humble beginnings trace back to our Etsy shop, established in December 2015. The name "zakkaya" is derived from the Japanese word "zakka," encompassing all things that enhance your home, lifestyle, and appearance. To me, these small, yet meaningful details can truly elevate your life, create memories, and even spark inspiration. As Charles Eames once said, "The details are not the details. They make the design."

Prior to my arrival in the United States, I resided in Tokyo, Osaka, and Kagoshima for a decade. Since moving to New York City, I have missed many aspects of Japan, particularly its zakka and stationery. I have always envisioned sharing this amazing part of Japan with individuals across the globe. My passion and inspiration stem from this goal.

Our shop offers a thoughtfully curated selection of exquisite, hand-crafted items from Japan to the rest of the world. Our primary objective is to offer exquisite tools that invigorate imaginative minds.

August, 2019, we opened our inaugural brick-and-mortar shop, located in East Village, New York. If you ever visit the Big Apple, please drop by and say hello! ;-)
